Lion Safety - A new Nittany Lion



Penn State is more than half finished with their 2014 recruiting class, with nine months to go.

Today, Marlboro, Maryland safety Marcus Allen Bill O'Brien has agreed verbally lion safety, according to several recruiting sites - the eighth overall commitment in the classroom and the second defense last week. (Penn State can only sign 15 recruits instead of the usual 25 due to NCAA sanctions).

Allen is about 6 feet 2 inches and 190 pounds. It is considered a three-star prospect (out of five) by some experts and four stars by others lion safety.

Allen also took place scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Maryland, Pitt, Clemson, Georgia Tech and others.

It is ranked as the No. 24 safety in the nation and the No. 5 overall player in Maryland, according to 247Sports.

"I chose them because they limit scholarships, lion safety chose me," said Allen 247Sports. "When the security involved in the last class and fill in the blanks, still chose me."

The Nittany Lions have received their first verbal commitment from a defensive back last Friday at Coatesville athlete Daquan Worley.

Penn State next targets that could make their decisions quickly as Michigan and Maryland lion safety linebacker Jared Wangler Troy Vincent, Jr.

The Lions have until early February to complete this class, which is essential for the use of offensive and defensive line, another defensive or two and maybe a quarterback.
