Safety Stone - Stone about Safety Improvements

On 25 May, a 61 year old cyclist was killed in the Stanley Park Causeway. Apparently she was trying to get a pedestrian, fell on the sidewalk and was hit by a bus Safety stone. Someone at work asked me:

"But who was he - the cyclist or pedestrian zone"?

This question made me think. It was not the "fault" of the unfortunate cyclist, and I guess it was not the "fault" of the pedestrian zone Safety stone. The fault of the planners We commit ourselves to providing secure infrastructure for us. In this case, the responsible is the Ministry of Transport - and who have failed in this responsibility, which leads to the horrible and tragic death of a woman of 61 years.

This death is not a surprise to me. My own wife Maggie (Mrs. Average Joe Cyclist) had a similar accident when he was only 16 Safety stone. I'm not risking the wrath of the husband saying exactly when it was, but suffice to say that she was there over 30 years.

Thus, at least 30 years, cyclists have to risk their lives to cross the Lions Gate Bridge.

For Maggie Safety stone, she was lucky - there were no buses and vehicles approaching all managed to avoid his court.

However, Safety stone entering the Lions Gate Bridge Life should not be a matter of luck - it must be safe, and can be done safely if the appropriate infrastructure.
